ANSBACH, Germany (Nov. 21, 2016) – Several community members at U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach ran through the cold and the rain around Katterbach Kaserne Saturday morning during the garrison’s annual Turkey Trot.
The top male and female finishers of the 3.2-mile circuit around Katterbach Army Airfield received a free frozen turkey.
Stephanie Hoehne, Senior Executive Service, the director of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, Headquarters Installation Management Command, and Command Sgt. Maj. Chris Hatfield, G9, HQ IMCOM, attended the Turkey Trot as it coincided with a visit with USAG Ansbach FMWR staff. Hoehne and Hatfield also toured the FMWR facilities and learned about support to Soldiers at Katterbach Army Airfield, Storck Barracks, Camp Mihail Kogalniceanu, Romania, and Novo Selo Training Area, Bulgaria.
Hoehne and Philip Romanelli, USAG Ansbach deputy to the garrison commander, awarded the top runners of the race with their turkeys before Hoehne received a tour of the Katterbach Fitness Center.
Santiago Norat was the fastest male runner and fastest overall, and Susanna Reinhart was the fastest female runner. Both took home a prize bird.
