ANSBACH, Germany (Nov. 20, 2015) – The U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach Religious Support Office partnered with the Ansbach Spouses’ and Civilians’ Club for ASCC’s annual holiday charity drive, “Operation Holiday.”
Every year, ASCC receives donations of food, gifts and items for those identified by unit leaders as needing assistance during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season.
Nearly 200 service hours were invested in preparing for this season, according to a member of Christine Bayse, member of the ASCC. The RSO purchased $3,000 worth of commissary vouchers in order to increase the impact of ASCC’s effort in 2015.
Each Soldier is eligible to receive one $50 voucher. The RSO manages the Chapel Tithes and Offerings Fund, which is funded through the donations of those attending worship services at USAG Ansbach. Worshippers give tithes and offerings as acts of worship for the purpose of funding internal programs, community prayer luncheons, community showcases, the “Just Moved” conference, vacation Bible schools, non-profit organizations benefiting Soldiers and Families, and disaster relief efforts.
