Ansbach Community Showcase—Welcome to Franconia!
Each year, as summer ends and the new school year is about to start, the Ansbach community comes together to explore the many local organizations, agencies and services at the annual community showcase.
The showcase allows new community members, as well as residents, to receive information from each organization, learn about new services, and receive updates for existing services, clubs and organizations.
This year the showcase takes place Saturday, Aug. 20, in and around the Katterbach Fitness Center, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This year’s theme is “Welcome to Franconia,” based on the region where Ansbach is located. Show off your Franconian (or Bavarian) attire as we celebrate living in this wonderful community.
The Katterbach Fitness Center provides ample space for the many different organizations of USAG Ansbach. Representatives from Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, Army Community Service, Auto Skills Center, Outdoor Recreation, Child & Youth Services, garrison agencies and private organizations, and many more will be on site.
Pub Night at the Terrace Playhouse
Every Tuesday evening, the Terrace Playhouse on Bleidorn Kaserne hosts a pub night with varying themes, like yard games, karaoke night, board games or trivia games. There is no need to register, just show up and have fun!

Biergarten at the Von Steuben

Aug. 9 & 23 – Daddy Matters
This bi-weekly parenting support group is for fathers with children ages 0-3 years old. Whether you are a new parent, expecting, or have multiple children, this group focuses on the importance of your role as a father in your child’s life. Contact ACS at 09802-83-2883 (DSN 467-2883) to participate.

Aug. 12 – Biergarten at the Bowling Center
Join us for a relaxing evening at the Biergarten of Katterbach Bowling Center Friday, Aug. 12, starting at 5 p.m., with refreshing drinks and some live music.

The Katterbach Bowling Center is currently operating under reduced hours, open Thursday—Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Aug. 12—15 – Trip to Normandy, France, with ODR
Take a trip to Normandy and Omaha Beach, then Mont Saint Michel and Bayeux with Ansbach Outdoor Rec.

Katterbach Fitness Center – Operating Hours Change
Currently, the KFC staff is on site Monday—Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Federal and Training Holidays). To enter the building outside those hours, patrons need to register for 24/7 access. Class passes for fitness classes after hours need to be pre-purchased during operating hours.
Fitness Calendar
The Katterbach Fitness Center offers a variety of fitness classes and activities every month, including some morning, lunchtime and after work classes. Contact the KFC to find out more at 09802-83-2771.
