Final Legionella results

ANSBACH, Germany  — U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach has completed its routine Legionella bacteria testing of community facilities and housing. Tests conducted by a certified lab contractor show that no location in the USAG Ansbach community requires corrective action and that water is acceptable for all purposes, including drinking, bathing, food preparation, cooking and dish washing.

Testing was coordinated and monitored by the USAG Ansbach Directorate of Public Works (DPW). German environmental law requires annual monitoring for Legionella bacteria at locations meeting certain technical criteria. Department of Defense policy and German federal and state regulations require routine annual testing for all DOD installations within Germany.

For questions regarding testing, contact the USAG Ansbach Environmental Division at DSN 467-3422, CIV 09802-83-3422.
