CYS programs participate in national art contest

ANSBACH, Germany – The USAG Ansbach Child & Youth Services (CYS) programs join thousands of Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) across the United States in a search to identify talented young artists. The competition is part of BGCA’s National Arts Program, a comprehensive initiative promoting young people’s creativity and encouraging artistic skills and cultural enrichment.

As a participant in the National Arts Contests, youth registered with CYS may submit artwork and photographs for our annual National Arts Exhibit. The exhibit will be held on Jan. 23, 2019 at the School Age Center (SAC), Bldg. 9028 on Katterbach Kaserne from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Selected artwork will be screened at the regional level, and a limited number will be sent to BGCA’s Atlanta headquarters for judging at the national level.

The Katterbach SAC and Youth Center programs will have art activities going on leading up to the exhibit. Youth 6-18 years old, who are registered with CYS, are able to submit artwork in nine categories, and photographs in five categories. Artwork and photographs completed by youth on or after  Jan. 1, 2018 can be submitted for the exhibit. Parents or teachers must verify that submissions created outside of our programs were completed entirely by the youth.
