ANSBACH, Germany — The mayor of Bad Windsheim, Bernhard Kisch, presented four local residents with the city’s Ehrenbrief, or Honorary Citation, during the recent New Year’s Reception at the Kur- und Kongresszentrum.
Among the honorees was Helga Moser, community liaison specialist for the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade. Moser was lauded for fostering German-American relations, during her more than thirty years of working for the U.S. Army.
Kisch said that Moser not only translates from one language to another (German to English and vice versa) but also “conveys the respective, different viewpoints, allowing for a better understanding among U.S. and German officials.”
Her engagement of encouraging official participation of events and activities to foster better understanding for one another “is a firm, but also important part of German-American relations and our friendship,” said Kisch.

The U.S. Army delegation included the leadership teams of U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach and 12th Combat Aviation Brigade (pictured above in uniform, from left), Col. Benjamin C. Jones, Command Sgt. Maj. Mark Smith and Col. Kenneth Cole respectively and their spouses received a welcoming applause during the Bad Windsheim New Year’s Reception.
