May Day in Germany is rife with old traditions, filled with myths and mysteries, and the celebration of spring.
As winter slowly loses its grip on the Franconian landscape, people are getting ready for spring. The locals follow ancient rituals and celebrate the beginning of the new season with some old and treasured traditions.
The Ansbach region features several golf courses; most of them are private clubs that welcome guest players. Miniature golf courses are often found in the cities and offer a fun outing for the whole family.
Several wild life parks, an aquarium and a large zoo are located close enough to USAG Ansbach for a day trip; some of the smaller parks are low cost or admission free and make a perfect opportunity for a family outing.
The local German-American friendship club “Outreach-KONTAKT Franken” recently elected board members for 2020; a first planning meeting took place March 10. The biggest change is the permanent move of the regular Stammtisch meetings from Tuesdays to Thursdays.
