EARTH DAY AT SOLDIERS LAKE
The USAG Ansbach Environmental Office is hosting a delayed Earth Day Event July 14 at 9 a.m. at Soldiers Lake on Urlas. Children 1st to 5th grade are invited to experience and learn about the garrison’s own honeybees, Soldiers Lake’s water life and about the USAG Ansbach Fire Department. PATRIOT BOOT CAMP
Patriot Boot Camp is excited to announce that we are hosting Patriot Boot Camp Virtual Fall 2021 presented by Berkeley College for ideation stage active duty, veteran, and military spouses located outside of the continental United States (OCONUS) and stateside. The FREE program will be held October 14-15, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. EST. The program will accommodate active duty service members, veterans, and military spouses located in European time zones.

- Mission Transition with Berkeley College
- Explore Entrepreneurship with Berkeley College
- Three Mentoring Sessions
- Funding your Business
Patriot Boot Camp’s virtual fall program is designed specifically for ideation stage entrepreneurs. This program will help answer the question, “Do I want to start my own business?” Berkeley College, our presenting sponsor, made a generous donation to Patriot Boot Camp so PBC can provide this program free of charge. PBC and Berkeley College want to raise awareness of the resources for active duty service members, veterans, military spouses, and their family members in the entrepreneurial space. Patriot Boot Camp and its many partners want to promote military small business startups across the globe. This program is for military-connected entrepreneurial minded people OCONUS and stateside.

It’s strictly forbidden to barbecue on balconies. Do NOT use BBQ grills indoors or store them in hallways or basement floors of your building. BBQ grills can be used beyond a 15-foot distance from a building or structure.
ARMY & AIR FORCE EXCHANGE SERVICE CELEBRATES 126TH ANNIVERSARY WITH $1.26 EXPRESS DEALS IN JULY
The Army & Air Force Exchange Service is celebrating its 126th with special deals at Express stores and restaurants throughout July. On July 25, 1895, the War Department issued General Order 46 directing commanders to establish an exchange at every post. Since then, exchanges have faithfully served military members wherever they are called to serve. To mark the anniversary, USAG Ansbach Soldiers and other military shoppers can enjoy $1.26 deals on snack favorites and more at the Katterbach and Illesheim Expresses from July 1 to 31. On July 25—the Exchange’s official anniversary—shoppers will receive $1.26 off all combo meals at participating Urlas Exchange restaurants. “Since July 25, 1895, it has been our honor to serve those who serve and give back to the military community,” said Katterbach Express Store Manager Dean Schluter. “Through war, natural disasters and even global pandemics, the Exchange is privileged to be there for our Airmen, Soldiers, Guardians, retirees, Veterans and military families.”
AMERICAN LEGION POST 1982 WANTS TO PARTY WITH YOU.
They will be conducting an OPEN HOUSE at our Post Home in Bldg 5515* from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 18. There will be free food and soft drinks for everyone.
*Bldg 5515 is located on the east end of the housing area on the south side of Katterbach Airfield. (Same building as the Thrift Shop.) From the Community Bank and Service Credit Union area, travel south along the east end of the airfield. Bldg. 5515 is the first building on the right after you pass the airfield.
COMMISSARY EARLY BIRD HOURS REINSTATED
The Commissary will reinstate Early Bird hours back to pre-COVID-19, effective Tuesday, July 13. Early Bird hours start Tuesday through Friday at 10 a.m.; only the self-check-out’s are open. The registers are open during normal hours 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. The Commissary’s normal operating hours Saturday & Sunday are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. hours – Closed on Mondays.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Save the dates! Vacation Bible School will be Aug. 2-6 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. In-person and online options will be available. VBS is for kids going into kindergarten through those who have completed fifth grade. The kids will enjoy exciting music, enriching Bible stories, engaging science experiments, energetic games, enjoyable snacks, and encouraging videos!
