Weinfest – Nürnberg

Volksfest in Rothenburg
The Rothenburger Volksfest is scheduled for June 26 through July 1 at the Festplatz at Spitaltor (Am Friedrich-Hörner-Weg). The lord mayor officially opens the fest by tapping the first keg of beer on Friday, June 26 at 8 p.m. in the fest tent. Weinfest and Dragon Boat Race – Kitzingen

Norisring Race in Nürnberg
The speed weekend on June 26 – 28 at the Norisring on Dutzendteich is a traditional car race event that was started as the “200 Miles of Nürnberg” in the 50s. Today more than 150,000 visitors enjoy watching the 2.3 k city course along the Zeppelinfeld, which only takes about a minute to complete. Races include Deutschen Tourenwagen Masters (DTM), the Porsche Cup, Formula-3 Euroseries and the VW Scirocco Cup. To learn more, go to www.norisring.de

Franconian Wine Fest in Bamberg

“The Hooters” come to Geiselwind
The Philadelphia band “The Hooters” are scheduled to play at the Eventzentrum Strohofer in Geiselwind on June 28 at 6 p.m. Tickets are available through the usual ticket agencies.

American Music Abroad – Burgundy Tour
More than 120 elite high school students from the U.S. tour Germany every year with a program called “American Music Abroad.” They will stop for a free concert in Wolframs-Eschenbach on July 2. The concert starts at 8 p.m. on Wolframs-Eschenbach-Platz (outdoor) or will move to the Schulsporthalle (Steingrubenweg 3) in case of rain. Kiliani Altstadtfest in Bad Windsheim
The annual Kiliani Altstadtfest in Bad Windsheim is celebrating the 40th anniversary on July 3 through 5 downtown Bad Windsheim.

Rokoko Festival in Ansbach
The annual Rokoko Festival features volunteer actors and participants in handmade historical costumes dancing, parading and performing from July 3-7 at the Orangerie and other locations downtown Ansbach. Scheduled are day and night time events, including a “summer masked ball” with dancing, music and fireworks on Friday, July 3 at 9:30 p.m. and a “royal visit” on Saturday, July 4 at 9:30 p.m. On Sunday, July 5, the palace gardens of the Orangerie will be site of a great family event from 2 – 6 p.m.; watch different shows, children’s theater, jugglers and magicians or take a horse carriage ride and much more at the wonderful scenery of the Ansbach Palace Garden.
