U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach’s Family Advocacy Program is offering Domestic Violence Intervention Training, scheduled for Oct. 2 through 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Von Steuben Community Center at Bismarck Kaserne. DVIT is a five-day course taught by a trained instructor from the Army Military Police Academy. It provides advanced training to law enforcement personnel, mental health providers, social workers, victim advocates and first responders. Course topics include intervention techniques, dynamics of domestic violence, interviewing techniques, domestic violence crime scenes, legal aspects of domestic violence, and the effects of domestic violence on children.
