This weekend the Ansbach Provost Marshal Office is scheduled to conduct early morning Safety Compliance Checkpoints at the Katterbach Main Gate between 1 and 4 a.m. Friday through Monday.
USAG Ansbach’s Independence Day celebration is scheduled for 6 to 11:30 p.m. July 4 at the Katterbach Boardwalk at Katterbach Kaserne. This free, Family-friendly event will feature live music, amusement rides and games, a military vehicle exhibition, a beer tent and refreshments, and, of course, a fireworks show.
The National Commander of The American Legion Charles E. Schmidt invites all military veterans – active duty and retired – and their family members to a veterans’ benefits awareness town hall, June 1 from 9 a.m. to noon hosted by American Legion Post 1982 at their location at Katterbach Kaserne.

Fire and Emergency Services of the U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach Directorate of Emergency Services held a memorial ceremony in observation of International Firefighters’ Day May 4, 2017, at the Katterbach Kaserne Fire Station. Firefighters from both the garrison and the city of Ansbach attended the event.
This year’s Toppers Awards, a gala ceremony that celebrates Army Europe community theater during the 2017 season, were held at U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden Saturday, and USAG Ansbach’s own Terrace Playhouse was among the winners this year. The playhouse gained six wins out of 28 nominations for its productions of the comedy One Man, Two Guvnors (12 nominations, three wins) and the family musical The Lion King Kids (16 nominations, three wins).
Community members, in conjunction with several on-post partner organizations, put together an Easter egg hunt April 15 at Urlas Community.
